RIMI4AC, this project’s acronym, is short for “Improvement of research and innovation management capacity in Africa and the Caribbean for the successful stimulation and dissemination of research results.” Funded by the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) science and technology programme - itself supported by the ninth European Development Fund - the project is to run for three years (2010-2012) on a budget of approximately three million Euros.
In that time it will support the set-up of research and innovation management associations in Central and East Africa, and the Caribbean region, as well as strengthen existing structures in Southern and West Africa. It will also provide training and mentoring, resources and an information and communications network that research managers can draw on in support of their activities.
